If not, then why don't you buy a copy of the original European Accident Statement in English for just a few euros?
If you live abroad and have insured your car on foreign plates, then your
foreign insurance company have probably given you a form to keep in your car and
to fill in if you have an accident. But in which language? Do you understand it
all?
Tick the wrong box
and the accident that wasn't your fault suddenly is
The European Accident Statement is a coded form with boxes to tick typical
accident types.
It is very important to tick the right boxes for the right
drivers, because these boxes are determining factors when it comes to deciding
responsibility for the accident. If you trust a foreign driver to fill in the
form in a language you don't understand, then you may end up paying hundreds or
even thousands of euros in higher insurance premium if the other driver is less
scrupulous than you are.
If the insurance company later want a translation of the form to their own language, then the
translation can quietly be done later, after emotions or shock after the accident have calmed down.
One form costs 1.20 € incl. VAT. There is a handling fee of 4.78 € incl. VAT per order. Add postage at
cost. Click on how to pay for information about how to pay.
Examples of total cost including VAT, handling and postage
All prices are in euros. The invoice will be sent by e-mail. If you want a
paper invoice, postage may be higher. The prices below include French VAT (sales
tax) at
19.6%. However, VAT is not due for shipments to countries outside the EU and to
VAT registered businesses within the EU, except France. Don't hesitate to ask us
in case of doubt.
General note: Because of the stepping of French postage rates, it is
sometimes less expensive to send the same contents as two letters than one. This
is particularly the case for first class letters to the EU and Switzerland. This
has been taken into account when calculating the prices, and you will in such
cases receive two letters.
